Ved Nayar

Ved Nayar was born in 1933. He was uprooted during Partition and began to live in Delhi. Nayar graduated from St. Stephen's College, Delhi University. Nayar began as a painter initially land later turned to sculpture. He started exhibiting from 1957. From the 80s onwards, Nayar has been doing installations. He has also undertaken many distinguished design assignments. Environment has been a major concern of Nayar's. He recalls the genesis of this involvement to his relationship with a jungle close to his childhood home. The installations were born of desire to create an environment for his sculptures. Drawing is also an important medium in Nayar's work
