Brown and White horses

This artwork depicts strength, elegance and power

This horse series artwork is an outstanding work by artist Devidas Dharmadhikari. He is an artist whose work transcends the boundaries of time and space.

There is no need to say something about the subject horse. Everyone knows about power, beauty, strength and many other accepts in it. The subject itself is enthusiastic. Along with these things, it is very challenging to create in paintings. Devidas have tried to keep the realistic anatomy/ proportion of horses without trying to stylize it. Sometimes he had to simplify the form. His paintings are trying to capture the movement of the horse through bold strokes and vibrant colors showing for its strength, power, beauty and force.

He uses the idealistic, representative and modernist language of Indian contemporary art. He use bold strokes as well as transparent layers to create emotions. Devidas  have displayed vivid forms of expressional creative search in quest for the real inner self in my work through artistic amalgamation of relevant innovative ideas with apt colour tones and their harmony, lyrical resonance and special textural effects and highlighting the desired rhythm and ensuring visual effects in the relevant perspectives of visual fine arts.

Devidas Dharmadhikari

Working as a freelance artist last 15 years, with different mediums, like acrylic, oil, water color, pastel. Mostly He works on acrylic on canvas. Every man is different from another. The mind, body, thought, soul of every person is different from one another. Not only are these but there many other aspects of a man that make him divine. An individual personality every man is unique. One may be an introvert, the other be extrovert, one may be honest, one may be kind, and many other qualities like generous, dedicated, not only good qualities but also the bad qualities in man are different. One must be jealous, the other being dishonest, rude. A man has one or the other qualities whether bad or good. But how can we decide what exactly is he? Who decides that the man is honest, brave, short tempered? Who is it that gives the man this label (stamp)? How can one evaluate the person in once glimpse how much does he know the person. An individual gains different labels (Stamp) from the society. How can we decode that they are true. When the individual is known as calm and good person in society how can he murder the other person living in same society we know that man is not born criminal but under certain situation it happens that man commits a crime and then society low labels him as criminal. Is the man really criminal? Sometime the society labels certain community in the society as criminals. To what extent would it be right? If we look at different aspects of individuals rather the labels he has received from the Society or his close ones, then are we successful in understanding him a human being? Can we understand his behavior? Or would he be a different personality altogether? Will I be successful in evaluating myself through the different labels that I get from the society , or do I have to keep, deep in to my self to get the answer? In spite of the Innumerable labels that I get from the society I feel an urge to know really about my feeling, my thoughts, that is the inner voice and this is what I would like to show through my paintings.
