Eleni Koritou is a contemporary artist who was born and raised in Athens, Greece, a city well known as the cradle of Western civilization and culture.
Since her childhood, she had a powerful passion and desire to draw and to paint. That is the ingredient that caused her to learn all she needed to know to become an artist.
By using, adapting, and merging a variety of styles she paints portraits that stare out at you with questioning eyes, landscapes that come out of fairytales. The perspectives are painted uncoordinated which gives the work an intense atmosphere.
She mixes together bright colors to create a childish image. Each image draws the viewer in and demands a second look. Inspired by the old masters, her allegorical ideals are transported into contemporary settings. In pure abstraction, she takes on the inherent qualities of the shapes and colors, adding small details whenever she sees fit.
She has participated in many group exhibitions and most of her works can be found in private collections.
