Tariq Javed
Born in 1952, Faisalabad Pakistan and currently living and working in Karachi. Tariq graduated from the Karachi school of Art in 1973, and in 81,mounted his first solo exhibition, a collection of abstract pieces at the Karachi Art Council.
Though he was a popular painter, the artist was drawn to experiment with other disciplines, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. The passion for ceramics persisted, inspite of the lack of facilities in Karachi.
He was one of the few ceramists in Karachi who attracted great interest from public, and he established a centre where he taught art to students. He likes to paint woman very beautifully in his own Rajasthani style with a beautiful prompt jewellery & Nose pin. He beautifies his canvases with deer & birds.
These days he has also diversified his focus into calligraphy. He has participated in many Solo and Group shows mostly in India, Pakistan, Uk & U.S.
