Artist Javed Qamar from Pakistan describes his calligraphy style as antique. That may be because he is inspired by 16th century calligraphy art. His alphabets in Arabic are very fine as compared to his contemporaries. The use of antique colours combined with silver leafing takes the viewer in the past, leaving them with a sense of excitement.
The painting starts from the middle of the canvas and spreads both right and left, exhibiting the broad outlay of a visualisation. The depth, exhibited by rather smaller facets, leads one to foreseeing the future. However, with his deep insight in the world of calligraphy, he has worked on this so basic an alphabet.
His passion & love for details is evident in his work but he is constantly developing new techniques thus affecting his work, giving it depth, meaning and maturity and this is where the mastery of Javed Qamar becomes evident.
