This still life painting  is an outstanding work by artist Ali Hammad. One window is what gives light to the still life, portrait etc. Light is the idea in this paintings, there is one which is the incident and the other that is inventive. So, on the surface it may be a still life or a portrait but in depth it’s a skillful intertwining of color, light, form, space, air, etc. the artist use everyday objects with the interplay of light and shade, not only to make beautiful pictures but also to symbolically address the dark and difficult times we are passing through.
