Mohammed Osman
Mohammed Osman is a young promising artist from Hyderabad. He was born in a small town near Hyderabad. He has spent more than twenty years in his small town before he moved to Hyderabad. His paintings have a very fresh approach to rural life of South India and interestingly have a very strong influence of Hyderabad. Osman paints his women with great passion, with sharp noses, big eyes, broad shoulders, wheatish skin complexions, and more often than not, he paints their foreheads with big bindies. The saris have beautiful motifs of village life. The way he composes his figures are very conventional and it allows viewers to enter his canvas and be a part of his beautiful life.
Osman is distinctively different from those painters who paint telangana culture. He always tries to capture the essence of rural life of his native small town, which is very close to Hyderabad. He paints mostly watercolours and has developed a style of his own. His palette is very refreshing and drawing is realistic. Osman ‘s language is very strong, the drawing, the colours and the composition speak volumes of the artist’s maturity at a very young age. Osman never bothers about the content of his paintings. He is not trying to give any message through his paintings. His first and foremost concern is to show the best of his skills to paint his forms. He is always concerned about the language of the work than the content. Life is very beautiful with sensuous women in Osman’s canvas; many art lovers would love to live with his paintings.
